Physical Therapy: no pain, no gain

Here I am with my physical therapist. While I am unable to walk without a cane and each step brings tears of pain to my eyes, this, after twelve sessions, she assures me we’re making progress, wonderful progress. My insurance recently approved more treatments. Yay.

About Russell Smith

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is also an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Natasha, Maxwell, Tigger and Nigel.

  2. Russell,You make me laugh! Having been to PT way too often in the past couple of years, I completely relate!! I’m glad you haven’t lost your incredible sense of humor in the midst of all you’re dealing with–the July entry was hysterical. Love,Pam

  4. Well, I do think that the therapist seems to be trying to put on a festive face, so as to make the physical “therapy” a much more plesant procedure. I think if you just sit back and let it happen and keep screaming thank you sir may I have another, you will do just fine.
