The beginning of the end?

The horror! The horror!

I remember when this all began. It seems like a dream, way back in 2006 when they tore down the quaint strip mall with my dry cleaners, gypsy store front and industry photographer. For over six blissful years, I enjoyed my third story view of East Hollywood. Such amazing sunrises! Such thrilling sunsets! Is it to be war again?

How it began - January 2007

Here’s a link to show you how far back this battle goes. It is from my old Blogger (Google hosted) site. I gave up on the more user friendly Blogger because if there is a Satan, then it is Google.

About Russell Smith

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is also an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Natasha, Maxwell, Tigger and Nigel.

  1. Great. Can’t wait for an update.

…and are you noticing how uneven those blue beams are they’re putting up right now?

  2. I live in the building just north. For the love of God, bring them war.

    • I have it on good authority that the structure going up will be a “parking pavillion.” I don’t think it will be more than two stories high. When I know more, I will let you know. Hollywood Russ
