Hello, fans!

I am in Pennsylvania visiting my folks. It’s great to be here. Unfortunately, now that the latest El Niño event in Southern California has passed, I am now enjoying rainfall East Coast style. It looks like my parents’ basement is in danger of flooding. We’re waiting for a call-back from the contractor who installed their sump-pump. My sister’s basement is already a scene from Hieronymus Bosch’s painting, Ship of Fools. Luckily, my nephew is there to get the sump-pump going. Now they are busy trying to clean up after the mess.

About Russell Smith

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is also an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Natasha, Maxwell, Tigger and Nigel.
